Vehicle Insurance Requirements (Cars and Motorised Scooters)

If you plan to deliver using a car or motorised scooter, you must have two types of insurance in place when working with Deliveroo.

Social, Domestic & Pleasure (SD&P)
This is your standard vehicle insurance that covers everyday use of your vehicle when you are not working. It is a legal requirement for any vehicle that has not been declared off-road. -
Hire and Reward (H&R)
Your SD&P policy does not cover food delivery work. If you are delivering goods in exchange for payment, you must also have one of the following types of cover in addition to your SD&P insurance: -

This type of insurance covers you while using your car or scooter for delivery work. Proof of this insurance must be provided before you can start delivering.

When you’re logged in, you’ll receive delivery offers for orders to collect and deliver. Simply tap the offer to accept the job.

Collect from the merchant
A map will appear guiding you to the merchant to collect the order. Show a member of staff your collection details, then pack and secure the order ready for delivery.
